Why Does North America Need the Loud Cry?
How do you reach people who may never walk into a church or attend a Bible prophecy seminar? How do you get them to stop, look, and consider what the Bible says about the future?
Those are some of the questions behind Loud Cry North America.
In two recent videos, MacKenzie shares some of the thinking behind this work. One looks at how Jesus reached people during His ministry and what that means for us today. The other considers how God used powerful imagery to help people.
We scroll past countless videos and images every day, and most are forgotten within minutes. But an experience that brings us face-to-face with something unexpected can stay with us for years. Loud Cry North America is about creating those kinds of moments—ones that spark curiosity, open conversations, and help people discover truths they might never have thought to investigate on their own. Many people aren’t looking for Bible prophecy because they don’t yet realize how much it has to say about their lives and the world around them. Sometimes, it takes something unexpected to get them asking questions.
A statue can do something a video on a screen can’t: give people a reason to stop, come closer, and start a conversation face-to-face. That personal connection can open the door to a much deeper look at what the Bible says.
The Bible points to a final message of mercy that must reach the world before Jesus returns. Ellen White wrote:
“The great work of the gospel is not to close with less manifestation of the power of God than marked its opening.” — The Great Controversy, p. 611.
She also writes:
“The message will go forth, not in whispered tones, but with a loud voice” —Testimonies for the Church, vol. 5, p. 252.
And what will that work look like? Ellen White describes the message spreading so widely during the loud cry that “light will be communicated to every city and town” (Evangelism, p. 694). The gospel is to reach people everywhere, including those who may never attend a prophecy seminar or pick up a book about Daniel and Revelation. But if someone brings these truths to them in an unexpected way, they may stop, listen, and begin asking questions they never thought to ask.
In fact, Ellen White says that we need to do things out of the ordinary:
Extraordinary Efforts Demanded—In the cities of today, where there is so much to attract and please, the people can be interested by no ordinary efforts. Ministers of God’s appointment will find it necessary to put forth extraordinary efforts in order to arrest the attention of the multitudes. And when they succeed in bringing together a large number of people, they must bear messages of a character so out of the usual order that the people will be aroused and warned. They must make use of every means that can possibly be devised for causing the truth to stand out clearly and distinctly. The testing message for this time is to be borne so plainly and decidedly as to startle the hearers and lead them to desire to study the Scriptures.—Testimonies For The Church 9:109 (1909). EV 40.3
Devise New and Unusual Plans—Let every worker in the Master’s vineyard, study, plan, devise methods, to reach the people where they are. We must do something out of the common course of things. We must arrest the attention. We must be deadly in earnest. We are on the very verge of times of trouble and perplexities that are scarcely dreamed of.—Letter 20, 1893. EV 122.4

That’s why this work matters. And that’s part of what we hope to accomplish through Loud Cry North America. If you haven’t yet gone to this page, check out our mission and vision where we explain where we’re going and how we got there. The goal isn’t simply to get attention. It’s to point people to God’s Word and help them see why its message matters now.
There’s a lot happening with Loud Cry North America, and you can be part of it.
Take your place in the Loud Cry.
