How Faith and Study Led the Morris Family to Clarity

God guides families to truth in His timing. Jessica Morris and her family’s journey illustrates how God can open eyes, soften hearts, and lead even the most cautious among us into deeper understanding of His Word.

For the Morris family, God led them through challenges, prayer, and study — ultimately opening their eyes and ears to His end-time message. Their journey is a powerful example of how faith, persistence, and God’s guidance can transform a family’s understanding and purpose.

Facing Challenges and Seeking Guidance

Roughly 9½ years ago, Jessica and Leonard faced a difficult season: their only child, Lena, was in and out of the hospital. At that time, they were attending a mega-church in Arizona but felt something was missing spiritually.

During this trying period, Jessica recalls praying for guidance and sensing God say, “Get to know My character.” It was in the hospital that they first came across The Bride, the Beast, and Babylon from Amazing Facts, which began a process of discovery. Shortly afterward, they found their current church and became Seventh-day Adventists.

“We felt God guiding us to the truth. That first step of discovery was just the beginning of an incredible journey.”

Discovery and Initial Doubts

During the pandemic, the family discovered Stateline SDA Church, What’s Up Prof, and Amazing Discoveries. They followed the teachings until Matthew left AD, which initially caused confusion so they watched Matthew’s video explaining why he left.

Jessica shares,

“Our first reaction was…Matthew makes perfect sense, and he agrees with Walter Veith, so it must be something wrong on the side of AD. Then we looked at Mackenzie’s video and thought, “What in the world is he talking about?!” We intended to dismiss AD altogether.”

Yet God continued stirring Jessica’s heart to “really listen and study this thing out. I did not want to! I felt we were on the right path and was afraid of getting deceived.” Eventually, she listened to God’s leading and revisited AD.

“So very reluctantly and with my guard oh so high, I decided to watch the Eastern Question series. After watching it, I felt like my eyes and ears were so opened. The questions raised in that series were deep and alarming—I did not have the answers to these important questions.”

She shared everything she learned instantly with Leonard, Lena, and her parents and sister.

A Family Transformed

Though Leonard, Lena, and Jessica’s extended family were initially hesitant, the Morris family dove into study together. They explored Thoughts on Daniel and Revelation, The Eastern Question, Waymarks and High Heaps, The True Midnight Cry, and even the church’s original 1889 Fundamental Principles.

“After much prayer and study we all came to the conclusion that this is truth.

We have learned more in the last 3–4 months than we have in the last 10 years. To God be all the glory and praise!”

~ Jessica

Their studies not only deepened their understanding but they found they became “so much more meaningful now” and it strengthened their family’s unity in faith.

Bearing Fruit: Leadership and Service

In July 2024, Leonard was unexpectedly voted to serve as an elder at their church, a role he humbly accepted after prayer.

“Whatever message you need me to share, may I speak it without compromise,” he prayed.

Within months, Leonard delivered his first sermon, and God guided him to present The Deceptions on Thoughts of Daniel and Revelation and The Eastern Question to their Pastor.

The night before a leaders’ meeting, their mother Yolanda reached out asking for prayers for Leonard as he prepared. At the meeting, Leonard shared two key messages: The Deceptions on Thoughts on Daniel and Revelation and The Eastern Question.

He asked a heartfelt question:

“Why did our church step off the foundation that God established with the Pioneers and Ellen White?”

~ Leonard

The pastor responded with openness, saying he would read the books and acknowledged changes within the church. Another elder, Kirk, who discovered AD around the same time, shared he had also been studying Thoughts on Daniel and Revelation.

This moment showed how God’s work in a single home can ripple out, impacting leadership and guiding a church community toward truth.

Guided by God to Serve and Share Truth

“Brothers and Sisters, we are living in tremendous times. Our Lord is moving the hearts of His people to prepare for the final events.”

Jessica’s testimony reminds us that God orchestrates paths — from opening hearts to guiding study, leading families to truth, and preparing His servants to act faithfully. Their story shows how obedience, discernment, and prayer can transform lives and ministries alike.
